What Happened to Enoch?

Enoch did not experience ordinary death. Genesis says that God “took” him, and Hebrews says Enoch was translated so that he did not see death.

Biblical explanation

Genesis says: “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him” (). Hebrews gives additional explanation: “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him” (). Enoch therefore experienced a unique translation by God. The Bible also records Elijah being taken to heaven in a similar extraordinary manner. .
