The Bible never presents God's grace and God's law as enemies. Grace forgives, restores, and writes God's will on the heart; the law reveals God's character and shows what love for God and neighbor looks like in practical life. Legalism tries to use obedience as a ladder to earn acceptance, but the gospel teaches that acceptance comes through Christ alone. At the same time, grace does not make rebellion desirable. The Spirit leads believers into willing obedience because they have already been loved, rescued, and made new.
