Is Hell Eternal?

The Bible uses the language of “eternal,” “everlasting,” and “unquenchable” fire in describing final judgment. Scripture must be read carefully, however, because it also explicitly describes the result of that judgment as death and destruction, and identifies the lake of fire as “the second death.”
