Biblical explanation
The opening verse of Scripture assumes God's reality: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (). God identifies Himself as the living God. says, “But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king.” Unlike idols, which are human-made objects incapable of acting or speaking, the God of the Bible acts in history. He speaks, creates, judges, forgives, answers prayer, and enters into covenant with people. Jesus Christ provides the central revelation of God. says that the Son has declared Him. describes Christ as the express image of God's person. God's reality is also connected with prophecy. describes God's ability to declare the end from the beginning, something Scripture repeatedly presents as evidence of His unique divine authority. The Bible does not claim that God can be placed under laboratory observation like a physical object. It presents Him as the Creator who stands above creation and reveals Himself to humanity.
